Yamada Asaemon Tesshin (山 (やま) (だあ) (えも) () (てつ) (しん) ) was a former Asaemon of the Yamada clan and the first apprentice of Yamada Asaemon Shion.

Appearance[]

Tesshin was a young man of average height with short black hair that has a purple tint to it and silver colored eyes. He had two small facial scars, one located on the corner of his left eyebrow and the other on the corner of his left cheek. As a former Asaemon, he wore the clan's standard attire, which was a white robe with a small bell on the side of the left collar along with a hakama held together with a waist cord. He also wore the clan's black haori over his uniform.

Personality[]

According to Eizen, Tesshin's personality was much like his junior Tenza when he was young, who at the time was unmotivated and had a bad behavior. Tesshin's lack of motivation stuck with him by the time he severed his connections with the clan, as he left not feeling committed to his training, in light of the bond he shared with his master Shion, and decided to live as he pleased. Upon being sentenced to death as a criminal and having to be executed by Shion, Tesshin came to regret his actions and apologized to his former master as his last words.

Sometime ago, Tesshin came to the gates of the Yamada clan presumably after being disowned by his parents and served as Yamada Asaemon Shion's student. Though he was on good terms with his teacher by the time he earned his name as an Asaemon, Tesshin did not favor the training he was given and left the Yamada clan to live out his own life. Struggling to survive as he wandered around from place to place, Tesshin turned to a life of crime and was arrested after breaking and entering a house to steal food and accidently killing a man. After being given the death penalty, Tesshin was set to be executed by his former teacher Shion, who was hesitant for a few moments to bring his sword down upon realizing who he was about to behead. Tesshin also noticed who his executioner was but did not resist, instead apologizing to his former master before he could finally force himself to execute him.
