Yamada Asaemon Kichiji (山田浅工門 吉次) was the head of the Yamada clan prior to being succeeded by Yamada Asaemon Jikka. He is also the father of Yamada Asaemon Sagiri.
Appearance[]
Like all Asaemon, Kichiji wears the clan's attire of a Asaemon, which is a white robe with a bell tied to the left collar and a hakama held together by a waist-cord. His hair is also fashioned in a topknot.
Personality[]
Kichiji appears to be a man that respects the traditions of his clan. He and his fellow clan members strongly believe that women in the clan should not wield a sword and looks down on his daughter for attempting to follow down the path of a samurai.

Kichiji is a remarkable samurai who managed to gain the title of a Asaemon and previously held the position of clan head. Like every Asaemon, he has the capabilities to decapitate a person with a single cut of his sword. However, Kichiji skills are at a higher level than his peers as he once decapitated a criminal with a single stroke without the body realizing that it was already dead. His skill with a sword is what inspired Sagiri to follow the path of a samurai.
