Summary
Gabimaru, Sagiri, Senta, and Yuzuriha meet Hōko and Mei, natives who reveal that the Elixir of Life, also known as Tan, is located at the center of the island known as Hōrai. However, they learn that the elixir is guarded by the island's rulers, Lord Tensen, godly immortal beings who have led past human travelers to their deaths. Hōko's warning proves to be true as two members sentences Chōbē and Tōma to undergo a horrific procedure, while another member claims one of the lives from either Nurugai, Tensa, or Yamada Asaemon Shion. After midnight, Gabimaru sneaks out and makes a quick haste to Hōrai to retrieve the elixir, however, he is met by the being that recently encountered Nurugai, Tensa, and Shion and engages in a death battle. Fortunately, Gabimaru is saved by Mei after she helps him escape down a cliff. Gabimaru's group soon catches wind that Gabimaru has left and leaves for Hōrai to go after him. Later, Gabimaru wakes up from his unconscious state and sees that he is confronted by Tamiya Gantetsusai and Yamada Asaemon Fuchi.
