Kotaku (こたく Kotaku?), or Shinsenkyō (神仙郷, Literally meaning: Divine Paradise), is an island located within the seas of the southwest which holds the Elixir of Life. The island is under the rule of seven immortal beings called Lord Tensen. Kotaku is the main setting throughout the series.
Layout
Kotaku is divided into three sections: Eishu, Hojo, and Horai.
Eishu
Eishu is the outer layer of the island, which holds the forest and the beach. The forest is covered in plant life, mainly due to the blooming corpses of samurai that last ventured the island. The Soshin are stationed in Eishu to eliminate any trespassers. The forest is also the main environment for the human faced insects.
Hojo
Hojo is the second layer of the island. So far the only thing known about Hojo is that it inhabits a village where Hoko and Mie reside.
