He was a former jōnin-class shinobi of Iwagakure and Gabimaru's father.

From what was shown is that he had his hair fashion in a topknot and wore simple robes, along with a kataginu.
Personality[]
Having chosen to abandon Iwagakure in favor of a normal life with his son and wife, he was a man who was too overwhelmed by the village's ideals and had only thought of what was best for his family. Since he had to adhere to the village's customs, the man felt that he had no choice but to pass on its ways to his son by trying to figure out a name that is fitting for a potential Iwagakure shinobi.

After the birth of their newborn son, Gabimaru's father and mother tried to think of a name that was best befitting for one who lives in Iwagakure and decided upon the name "Saku" upon looking towards the new moon they were under, believing that it was a name that would not make himself known or offer him any compassion as he grew up. Having become overwhelmed by the ways of the village, the husband and wife planned to abandon the village to live a peaceful life with their child. However, they were soon caught by the chief of Iwagakure and were killed for their act of treason, while sparing the life of their son.

As a former elite shinobi of Iwagakure, the man was presumably a shinobi whose capabilities were of a higher caliber, which gave him authority over the low-ranking genin.
