Summary[]
Fuchi interprets Mei's words and relays the information to the group. They learn that Hōrai is designed to be a massive fortress and that the sea monsters prevent anything from leaving the island. However, Mei reveals that Hōrai contains numerous ships at a underground floodgate that allows departure. Gabimaru tells them that according to Mei the Tan elixir is located in a laboratory but the palace's interior is constantly changing. With time drawing in close to invading enemy territory, Shion pulls Gabimaru and Yuzuriha over to have them instruct the group in the art of espionage using Tao. Yuzuriha teaches the group how to mask their presence by suppressing their Tao while Gabimaru teaches his lesson in using Tao physical against their opponents. After the training was over, everyone is divided into the Escape-Route Team and the Elixir Retrieval Team. Realizing that Mei wants to leave the island as well, Gantetsusai suggests that they let her depart alone and not wait for the Elixir Team. However, Gabimaru asks Mei if there was anything she desired to do before leaving the island. Mei tells Gabimaru that she wishes to meet with Rien and Jofuku again to ask why they underwent a major change in the past and then leave the island to live a normal life. Remembering his wives words to him, Gabimaru promises to fulfill Mei's wish no matter what.
