Chapter 46.5 is an omake-chapter in Volume 5 and was included in Shōnen Jump+ as a special project.
Summary[]
After Eizen, Senta, Tenza, Fuchi, Sagiri, and Tōma had each been assigned a criminal to monitor for the shogun's mission, Shion, Kishō, Genji, and Jikka become the only ones left to choose between the remaining four criminals: Moro Makiya, Akaginu, Warped Keiun, and Hōrubō. Though Shion hears his clansmen state that they are comfortable with being assigned with any one of the remaining criminals, he states that he is not fooled by Kishō's, Genji's, and Jikka's masked desires to monitor Akaingu, given her background. Knowing that the mission will not end successfully if the monitor is seduced, Shion proposes that they play kitsune-ken to decide fairly on who should get Akaginu. In the first round, Kishō loses and becomes disappointed that he gets assigned Warped Keiun, while Jikka loses the second round and sadly gets assigned to Hōrubō. In the final round between Shion and Genji, Shion quickly chooses to become the "fox" before Genji could completely shout out that he chose to be the "headman", which was due to the blind Asaemon's ability to sense the other's next moves. Both Genji and Kishō see that there is a chance for Shion to lose by having Genji shout out "hunter". However, seeing as how he could not bring himself to be dishonest, Genji shouts out his initial classification as being the "headman" and loses. Unknown to them, Sagiri stands outside the doorway with a disappointed expression on her face.
