Jigokuraku Wiki

Chapter 40 of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku.

Summary[]

After finally ending their fight with Mu Dan, Sagiri comes to Hōko's aid and recaps what she knows about Tao. She then becomes disappointed that the Elixir of Life does not exist. Yuzuriha answers saying that they would have to come up with another plan and looks towards the golden head statues as an idea of replacing the elixir. Sagiri sits down with Senta to rest and hears him give a compliment on Yuzuriha, making her question if he had any feelings for Yuzuriha. Senta denies this and says that he is envious of Yuzuriha's freedom. He tells her of his dream of wanting to become an artist when he was a child but was unable to because of his families tradition of training in the Yamada Clan. After rising the ranks because of his knowledge of theology, Senta chose to abandon his dream and carry out his duties as an executioner. He then recalls Yuzuriha managing to see right through him and how he admires her way of being able to lie to others but not to herself. Sagiri sympathized with Senta in being inspired by a criminal and talks about an idea of having everyone that came to the island to work together. Shortly after, Yuzuriha notices that Mu Dan's corpse is blooming. The corpse then creates a stinger that launches towards Yuzuriha. Senta quickly comes in to push her out of the way and is stung by the stinger. He then hallucinates about painting Yuzuriha while blooming flowers on the top of his head in the present. Sagiri and Yuzuriha watch in horror as Mu Dan starts to transform into a monster and about to be attack by stingers. However, Yamada Asaemon Shion arrives on time to cut away at the stingers. He then orders Nurugai to remove the growing flowers and roots from Senta's body and tells Sagiri that he will fight Mu Dan.
