Summary[]

After meeting with Mei and Yuzuriha, Gui Fa senses that not only is the Banko's Tao destroyed but also the island's as well, hinting that the land will soon meet its end. Gui Fa could also tell that the reason for Zhu Jin's foolish, yet commendable, actions was to receive praise from their colleagues. Yuzuriha comments on how she felt that Gui Fa was okay with the fact that the Tensens are all dying, but is told by Gui Fa that they have a chance of being revived through the Basin their holding, which they tried to protect as a result of their small body, after 1,000 years had passed. Yuzuriha decides that it was time for her and Mei to enter the floodgates but is warned by Gui Fa that after two hours have passed they will not be able to stop Rien from leaving the island. Meanwhile at the floodgates, Shugen enters and jumps onboard Rien's burning ship to stop his departure to Japan. Rien defends himself against Shugen but also tries to hold back as to not damage the ship's interior. Shugen slashes Rien at his tanden but has no effect due to his Water Tao not being the right match to hinder his Wood Tao. He is then shot through the chest but manages to have the damage slightly reduced with the help of Tenza's metal headband kept under his robe. After he chooses replicate the abilities of the Yamada Asaemon to fight the Tensen, Rien senses something strange with Shugen's Tao. Upon receiving another cut to his tanden from a replicated attack used by Shion, Rien starts to feel pain from the attack. Rien then confirms that Shugen has the ability to change the attribute of his Tao and sees that he has no choice but to give his full attention on fighting him. Though he wanted to protect the ship from burning by subduing the flames with Tao, Rien allows the flames to rise, severs Shugen's right arm with a feathered fan, and changes to their Yin form.
