Adachi Matagorō ( () (だち) (また) () (ろう) ?) was a criminal put on death row and a candidate to partake in the expedition to Shinsenkyō.

Appearance[]

Matagorō held a sinister facial expression and wore a robe with a cross shape patterns.

Personality[]

Matagorō was a cruel man who took enjoyment of killing women and children, even thinking of taking his chance of being pardon as an opportunity to continue killing. He also seemed to dislike the idea of being treated as a sacrifice.

History[]

Island Arc[]

At Edo, Matagorō and other death row criminals gathered together for the hearing of the Shinsenkyō expedition for a chance to be pardon of their crimes if they complete the task of retrieving the Elixir of Life from the island for the shogun. However, before any of them could go any further, they were ordered to reduce their numbers to determine the ones who were most qualified. After Aza Chōbei starts the massacre by killing one of the criminals, Matagorō becomes his next victim and is killed.
